Santana 20 for sale

$3,000

The Santana 20 is a fast and sporty sailboat with the feel of a dinghy, the controls of a larger boat, and lots of room below decks. It can be easily singlehanded, though usually races with 3-4. It is often referred to as the first small sportboat, with it's wide deck, fairly flat underbody, and plentiful sail area for it's light weight. She sails well in extremely light air, yet is stable enough for more boisterous conditions.

This particular boat (1982, Hull #482) was originally registered to the builder, Jane Schock. She won the nationals three years, and it is believed she did so in this boat. It still has all the racing controls, but the main is now stored on the boom, and includes a sail cover. There is also an all-weather bag for the jib to be stored on deck. She is currently kept in a slip and is ready to sail in a couple of minutes; there is no trailer. A recent and lightly used 4HP Nissan long shaft is available for an additional $750 (was $1,200 new).

The boat was dry-sailed for most of her life, but has been in the water for the last three years. She is in very good overall condition. Equipment includes fire extinguisher, life jackets, flares, etc.

Sails:
Main: Elliot Pattison, dacron, good condition
Jib: Elliott Pattison, dacron, about one year old
Spinnaker: Excellent condition.
